From Concept
To Community: How I Built An Online Community And Took It Viral
In 25 Days With Little Money And No SEO
I announced
the official launch of my new online community, Publetariat.com,
on 2/11/2009. The site climbed into the top 5% of Alexa traffic
rankings within its first week, and has remained in the top 3.5%
ever since. What makes these results even more astonishing still
is the fact that I'd only come up with the idea for the
site one month before. In this book I explain how I did it, and
provide the practical, concrete tips and advice you need to create
your own online community success story.

Back in the day, I was a screenwriter. I never got anything produced,
but I did option a couple of things and got a few writing assignments.
As time allows, I've decided to dust off my best-received screenplays
and make them available as ebooks. Watch this space for additional
entries in 2010.
Spidernauts
Family
action-comedy, for animation
When
the crew of space transport Millennium all fall victim to a mysterious
illness, it's up to the spiders brought on board for scientific
study to complete the mission and bring the ship home.
This
spec screenplay was a finalist in the Austin Film Festival Screenplay
contest, and a semifinalist in the Nashville Screenplay Shootout.
It also made it all the way up the chain to the president of Sony
Animation, but he passed on the grounds that, "It reads like
a pixar project," and Sony's going for an edgier, snarkier
product. Still, I took that rejection as very high praise.
