The Indie Author Guide has been released by Writer's Digest Books in a revised and updated edition. The book is currently available for order on the Writer's Digest, Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Borders websites, as well as being available for purchase in brick and mortar stores.

Until the new edition is ready, you can use this handy BookBuzzr widget to read as much of the original edition of the book as you like right here on the site. Once the book is open in the widget, click on any page to zoom in for a better view.

Note that the current edition's chapters on publishing through Createspace and publishing for the Kindle are no longer accurate due to Createspace and Amazon DTP site and process changes. The new edition contains updates to those chapters and more.

If you're not the DIY type, you can hire me to edit your manuscript, format your manuscript, convert your manuscript for ebook/Kindle publication, design your book cover for publication in print or ebook format(s), or consult with you about your author platform.

It's gotten a whole lot more complicated to publish for the Kindle now that Amazon DTP requires all Kindle books to have an "active" table of contents file, but if you're tech-savvy or just plain adventurous, you're certainly welcome to give it a try. My revised guide will walk you through all the steps and gotchas, with a lot of illustrations and instructions provided in plain English.
